Care basics
The wolf cichlid, often just called dovii, is one of the largest and most powerful cichlids in the hobby. Males are spotted and blue green with big jaws, and they grow into true tank busters.
Plan for a single fish in a very large tank with oversized filtration and frequent, large water changes, as dovii are sensitive to poor water quality despite their size. Secure all rocks and heaters, and only add tank mates that are just as large and tough. Strictly for experienced keepers.
