Care basics
Young duboisi are among the best known cichlids in the hobby, with white or light blue spots on a jet black body. As they mature the spots fade and adults turn blue black with a yellow or white band.
Like all Tropheus they are prone to bloat, so feed a vegetable based diet and keep the water very stable. They do best in a large group in a big tank, and new fish are rarely accepted into an established group. Not a fish for beginners.
