Care basics
The rainbow cichlid is a compact Central American cichlid whose colors shift from yellow to dark bands as its mood changes. It is one of the gentlest cichlids from the region.
It does well with tetras, barbs and other peaceful cichlids, with small plecos or catfish on the bottom.
