Care basics
The acei is a blue to purple mbuna with a yellow or white tail, depending on the form. It is one of the gentler mbuna and often swims more in open water than its relatives.
It does well with moderately aggressive mbuna and with quieter Malawi fish such as yellow labs. Several males can be kept in a large enough tank. Feed a vegetable based diet.
